Why This Website Exists

Hey there!

Let me be completely honest with you, I built The Fair Value Journal for pretty selfish reasons. I’m not a finance professional, I currently work in IT and stock valuation is a hobby I’m passionate about. I wanted a tool to apply Aswath Damodaran’s exceptional formulas and free spreadsheets more efficiently. His work has been invaluable, and I created this site to speed up my valuations, journal my thoughts for future reference, and share my analysis with my closest family members.

What You Should Know

This website is completely free and always will be. I’m not trying to sell you anything. No premium tiers, no paywalls, no ads cluttering your screen. That’s not what this website is about.

But here’s the reality, keeping this running costs money. Hosting, APIs, infrastructure… it adds up. I’ve done my best to keep costs low, but some expenses are unavoidable to keep the site fast, reliable, and available for everyone.
